Many mainstream businesses have been hesitant to incorporate cryptocurrency into their operations, but e-commerce giant eBay is apparently considering integrating cryptocurrency payments into its 187 mobile and desktop platforms across the globe. In an interview with Yahoo Finance, eBay CEO John Donahoe announced his company’s plans to integrate bitcoin payments in the near future. As part of the implementation of this project, J.P Morgan Chase, the largest US bank, created an internal blockchain platform called Quorum, which simplifies the development of applications with blockchain technology. In addition, the JPMorgan team has created a cryptocurrency, called “JPM Coin”, which can be used to make payments between different parties.

According to the CEO of Ebay, the e-commerce giant is looking at accepting cryptocurrency for all its 187 million buyers. Ebay is considering using cryptocurrencies as a payment method for the platform’s 187 million buyers, the company’s CEO said. The e-commerce giant is also exploring opportunities in the non-flying token (NFT) sector.

Ebay plans to add cryptocurrencies as payment option

In an interview with CNBC on Monday, Ebay CEO Jamie Iannone said the company is considering introducing cryptocurrencies as a payment method.

He was asked how Ebay is responding to the growing popularity and acceptance of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The CEO replied:

We are expanding the types of payments we accept. We now accept Apple Pay and Google Pay. More choice for buyers… We will continue to look for other opportunities, such as. B. Crypto-currency.

He added: One of the great advantages of Ebay is that when a new trend appears, it also appears on Ebay. We see this in areas such as NFTs [non-fungible tokens], and we want to explore these possibilities more fully. He also pointed out that the Ebay platform has 187 million buyers, according to the company’s first quarter results.
