In an interview with Yahoo Finance, eBay CEO John Donahoe announced his company’s plans to integrate bitcoin payments in the near future. As part of the implementation of this project, J.P Morgan Chase, the largest US bank, created an internal blockchain platform called Quorum, which simplifies the development of applications with blockchain technology. In addition, the JPMorgan team has created a cryptocurrency, called “JPM Coin”, which can be used to make payments between different parties.

Ebay plans to add cryptocurrencies as payment option
In an interview with CNBC on Monday, Ebay CEO Jamie Iannone said the company is considering introducing cryptocurrencies as a payment method.
He was asked how Ebay is responding to the growing popularity and acceptance of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The CEO replied:
We are expanding the types of payments we accept. We now accept Apple Pay and Google Pay. More choice for buyers… We will continue to look for other opportunities, such as. B. Crypto-currency.
He added: One of the great advantages of Ebay is that when a new trend appears, it also appears on Ebay. We see this in areas such as NFTs [non-fungible tokens], and we want to explore these possibilities more fully. He also pointed out that the Ebay platform has 187 million buyers, according to the company’s first quarter results.

Paypal was a subsidiary of Ebay until 2015, when the company sold the payments giant to its shareholders. Paypal launched its cryptocurrency service last year and made cryptocurrency payments available at millions of stores in March. Recently, users of the Venmo app have been able to buy, sell and own certain cryptocurrencies.
