America’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Gemini, now allows its users to buy cryptocurrencies like bitcoin (BTC) with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
According to Thursday’s announcement, Gemini users can now link their debit cards to Apple Pay or Google Pay to purchase cryptocurrencies with fiat currency on the platform. The company said users’ money will be available for withdrawal one hour after purchase.
The new functionality is available for more than 30 cryptocurrencies supported by Gemini, including major coins such as BTC, Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), as well as Ethereum-based tokens such as Aave (AAVE), Dai (DAI) and Maker (MKR).
The Twins did not disclose the cost of buying cryptocurrency via Apple Pay Google Pay. The platform deducts 3.49% of the total purchase amount on debit card deposits, while bank transfers and cryptocurrency deposits are free.
In recent months, the cryptocurrency industry has evolved in terms of increasing integration with traditional financial payment services like Apple Pay. In February, leading cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay announced a large-scale Apple Pay integration that allows its users to log into Apple Wallet and pay for goods and services using digital coins such as BTC, ETH, and LTC. Payments company Simplex also allowed Apple Pay users to buy the cryptocurrency ThCOTI in March.
