When it comes to the subject of cryptocurrency, the mainstream media is notorious for lack of coverage. The problem is that the mainstream media is often not up to date on the crypto-world, and that’s why it is so hard for them to cover news like this. The good thing is that there are a few media outlets that do try to do a great job at keeping up to date on what’s happening. One of those media outlets is Ukraine’s Public Radio, which has just started a podcast about bitcoin.
Ukraine’s public radio, Radio Racyia, recently launched its first ever podcast, which comes with a bitcoin-themed episode. The bitcoin episode is meant to serve as an introduction to the technology and its potential uses. Within the episode, host Vitaliy Yarema interviews bitcoin enthusiasts and developers, as well as a few representatives from startups and companies that are currently active in the space.
In an effort to expand and diversify its audience, Ukrainian public radio has recently entered the world of podcasts. Listeners could choose from a wide range of topics and genres. The podcast, which focuses on personal finance management and financial education, begins with an episode about bitcoin.
New radio shows will draw listeners to discuss everything from Crimea to cryptocurrencies
The National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NTRC) has launched several podcasts to better promote the programs of its radio stations – Ukrainian Radio, Radio Kultura and Radio Promin. It also aims to offer its audience exclusive content in a convenient format, including new projects such as documentaries and interviews with interesting guests. Dmitry Khorkin, NSTU board member in charge of the radio program, explained:
For NSTU radio stations, podcasts are an additional way to reach an audience that consumes audio content through digital platforms. They are created and launched in collaboration with the digital platforms department.
The podcasts are available online on Soundcloud, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts and Anchor. The programs cover a wide range of social, economic and political topics, from historical clips on the Chernobyl disaster and the crisis of the 1990s to in-studio discussions of contemporary issues such as rampant corruption in today’s Ukraine and the political struggle of human rights activists in Crimea, which has been annexed by Russia.
Podcast 100K answers questions about cryptocurrencies
How to make, spend and earn more money again is the main question the podcast titled 100K aims to answer. The authors of the program led by Ukrainian radio presenter Roman Kolyada want to help you learn how to plan your budget, save wisely and increase your funds with smart investments. The main goal of the project is to increase the financial knowledge of Ukrainians, which is probably why the podcast started with an episode dedicated to decentralized digital currencies:
In the first episode, we’ll talk about crypto-currencies. Why do they grow so fast? What is the difference between cryptocurrencies and traditional money? And most importantly: Is it worth investing your savings in cryptocurrencies?
Cryptocurrencies have been booming in recent months, and many Ukrainians are eager to know if bitcoin and other digital currencies have a place in their savings and investment portfolios. The podcast’s first guest, Evgeny Nevmerzhitsky, PhD, does his best to answer all these questions from the audience.
Ukrainians are generally positive about cryptocurrencies, and their country is one of the world leaders in their adoption. In the report published last year by blockchain expert Chainalysis, Ukraine ranked first out of 154 countries in the Global Crypto Adoption Index. The Kiev government is also open to digital assets and is working closely with representatives of the cryptocurrency industry on a project to establish its own CBDC.
